The first lesson is a test, of how you like my teaching instructions. Learning from someone should be like shopping for a car. I will not have my feelings hurt if you shop around. I'll even give you the names of a few people and dance studios I know of during/after the lesson. Also, you have to practice what you've learned. I don't want to waste your time and money and will make sure you're doing your part as well. I can't say this with 100% certainty but not all dance instructors are like this. Though I love teaching dancing, I hate taking people's money if their not getting anything out of it. My goal is to teach you everything I can in the shortest amount of time. I will teach you everything I know by the way, never holding anything back to get more money out of you. I remember when I first started and had wished there was someone out there like me. I charge $35 an hour, for a single individual or per couple. Add $5 per person after that... up to $100. This is a great deal for large group lessons. Oh, by the way, I don't look at my watch too often. If you slip 10 or 20 minutes, it's no big deal. As long as there's not another lesson scheduled after you. Before you come for a lesson, take a minute or two and decide what you want to learn, I will keep you on track. Showing up without an agenda is no big deal. I'll run with the first thing that pops up but readjust as the lesson progresses. I dance at The Cactus Moon (Broadway and Craycroft) every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. So come on out and take a look at what you might want to learn. |
